Bellevue College became a respected high-quality school by including faculty in decision making, centering classroom experiences. Now Provost Jess Clark wants to cut faculty out of decisions, taking the college in the wrong direction. Union faculty are coming together to defend their right to be at the decision-making table and stand up for a strong union. Students, alumni, families, and community members are advocating for a strong future for Bellevue College with no program cuts. When we take action together, we can continue making teaching and learning a priority and ensure a bright future for our college.
Our voices are urgent. Because Provost Clark refuses to settle a contract, faculty could be forced to go on strike at any time. And because administrators continue to manufacture a budget crisis, program cuts could come at any time. There’s a lot at stake. Take action now.
